Frequently Asked Questions
What is your Wet Season Guarantee?
-
We'll always give it a go! Rain or shine, we will always be happy to attend your event, and will do our best to get set up and ready to play safely.
-
Book with confidence. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, you can postpone or reschedule free of charge; just give us at least 24 hours’ notice, or by Friday 12pm for weekend events.
Can I still have my event in the wet season?
Yes absolutely! We’d recommend reading through the FAQs and reaching out to our specialist team to help your event run smoothly.
How do I choose the best location?
Sourcing the right location for your event makes the biggest impact. Here’s what to consider:
Cover
An undercover location is the best way to beat the heat as well as the wind and rain. If you’re searching for an undercover location to guarantee your event goes without a hitch, we recommend the Broome Recreation & Aquatic Centre, which offers an affordable space to host.
Please consider:
Lighting
If you’re hosting your event in the evening to avoid the scorching heat, be sure to select a location that has adequate lighting for safety.
Shelter
If an undercover or indoor location isn’t possible, consider the natural shelter around: tree cover and a location near a building can offer some protection from the wind and rain.
Indoor
Some inflatables are suitable to be used indoors, ask our team for recommendations!
The forecast looks bad for my event! What do I do?
If the forecast is predicting moderate to heavy rainfall, or winds above 25kph, keep reading and reach out to discuss your options.
If you choose to go ahead with your event, we're happy to accommodate you! Just be aware that in case of severe weather on the day, it may not be safe to set up, and/or inflate the equipment for the event duration.
If you have chosen to have a self-supervised event and the forecasted weather is looking unfavourable, we may specify that a safety trained Operator is required for the event to go ahead.
What happens if you come to my event and it’s rainy or stormy?
Our inflatables can still operate safely during light rainfall/winds, but during wet season we often experience storms passing through town that can become heavy very quickly. In this case, we would deflate the equipment as the rains start rolling in so as not to take any safety risks.
If we attend an event and moderate rain falls and/or winds go over 25kph, we will deflate and continue to monitor, reinflating only when it’s safe to continue.
Are inflatables still safe to use when it’s wet and windy?
We can safely use the inflatables in light rain and winds up to 25kph. Our safety trained Operators carry Wind Meters to monitor the wind regularly as soon as it reaches 15kph, and will keep you informed throughout the event.
What should I bring to an event with inflatables during wet season?
Hot weather: Hat, loose and light clothing with good coverage is recommended for best sun protection - long sleeves and long pants, cold water, a shade for parents & caregivers such as a UV protective umbrella.
Stormy weather: We’d recommend bringing a spare change of clothes and socks for events hosted in drizzly weather!
Water slides: Bathers, towel & a change of clothes.
For all events, please bring a pair of socks, a water bottle, and sun protection.
I don’t want to go ahead with my event, what are my options?
If you'd prefer to not go ahead with your event, don't worry, there are always options to ensure you don't miss out. To access these options, we just ask for notice at least 24 hours before your event, or by Friday 12pm for weekend bookings.
We'd advise to:
1. Postpone your booking for up to 12 months
Rebook when the weather’s looking clearer. No additional charge, plus your peace of mind.
2. Reschedule to another date or time
We’ll move your booking free of charge, if your originally booked equipment isn't available, we'll work with you to offer alternatives.
3. Consider a different event location
Undercover, sheltered spots can help ensure your event can run as planned. We recommend the Broome Recreation & Aquatic Centre, which offers an affordable spot to host your event. Please reach out if this is something you're considering.
What is considered a cancellation?
-
Calling off your event entirely and not re-booking to another day, at any stage of the process.
-
Change of mind on event day. For example, if we attend and you decide not to go ahead.
Do I get a refund if I cancel my event?
In all cases, the 50% event deposit is non-refundable, however if we have six weeks notice for your cancellation, you may use your deposit amount as a credit towards your next event.
A refund for the other 50% of your event total may be issued if you cancel with 7 days notice, so please reach out as soon as possible if you’re thinking of making changes to your event.
